Hello again!
How was everyone’s spring break? Mine was fun but I mainly did nothing ๐ค
At my school there are literally only Edgar’s or like preppys, etc. No hate or anything but there’s literally no gals here.
Sometimes I get nervy when I want to try dress up in gal cause I’ll get bullied or whatever. I know there’s a mindset to gal and I’m trying to stick with that but I also feel like because I’m still young maybe it’s not the correct time to fully start gyaru. So do I need to always dress in gyaru or can I start by only certain days and not at school?
I don’t wanna do gyaru incorrectly especially since I’m new to this and I’ve only dipped my toes and tried makeup a few times. So if any experienced gals can give me advice on what I should do I’d be grateful!
OHHH and I gotta know if it’s alright to do gal makeup without lashes because I always use mascara and I feel like it’s good and works well for me atleast. but is it a requirement ?
You don't have to dress & do gal make all the time to be gyaru. tbh, a lot of what's popular rn fashion-wise for reiwa gals is basic everyday clothes that you can buy from H&M and Shein; it's more about the overall silhouette of the outfit, how things are layered, and accessories used. As far as makeup without lashes... it's done that way mainly during certain years; it's not really popular with the reiwa style. me personally, when I do gal make without lashes, I stick to a general 'year' of gal. tbh, I didn't wear lashes with my make today, but my make, outfit, accessories, and hair were all focused on a year in gal when that was the popular look. if you wanna do gyaru make with no lashes I'd focus on a style that was prominent from around 99 (if you wanna look more oldschool lol) to around early 08. even then, the examples you'll find for clothing & makeup from any of those years is gonna vary based off what magazine you're referencing :-3 if you've got insta I really recommend checking out Galrevo, Miyu uploads tons of her scans from all different mags covering tons of different years and you can see really good fashion & make examples to help narrow down more the type of look you're aiming for :-3!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the advice! I’ll do some research on the specific years you mentioned and overall look for inspiration. I was worried for my wardrobe considering it didn’t fit into any substyle but based on what you mentioned I think my wardrobe is okay. Although I wish I could afford an entire gyaru wardrobe!! Haha don’t we all, Maybe one day. Unfortunately I don’t have instagram as I’m still fairly young (15) and I’m not allowed to have social media. I rely solely on Pinterest and YouTube for inspo. Anyways thanks for always replying and helping out, tysm! <3
DeleteI would totally give dressing up a shot! At my school nobody dressed up either. I did it and there were a few kids who definitely thought I was weird (nobody had the balls to say it to my face through) but I got sooo many compliments, especially from adults. More people appreciate the art of dressing up than you think. I think a lot of them are just scared to do it themselves.
